Jessie Tanguay, Occupational Therapist

French

About

Jessie obtained her master's degree in occupational therapy from Laval University in August 2017 and has been practicing at Axo Physio ever since. Throughout her university career, she had the opportunity to complete several internships with a variety of clients, including seniors with loss of independence, adults with orthopedic injuries, and children with developmental delays. These experiences have allowed her to develop great versatility and adapt her interventions to a multitude of contexts and issues.

Curious and open to the world, Jessie has also completed internships abroad, where she was able to enrich her resourcefulness, adaptability, and creativity. These qualities are now at the heart of her practice, allowing her to support her clients with flexibility and ingenuity in achieving their goals.

Since 2017, she has been working primarily in socio-occupational rehabilitation, particularly with people who have suffered musculoskeletal injuries or veterans in the process of reintegrating into civilian life. Keen to maintain a diverse practice, Jessie also offers home and workplace adaptation services, as well as interventions for preschool and school-aged children. She strives to individualize each of her interventions so that they are fully meaningful to her clients. Having recently become a mother herself, she is increasingly interested in occupational therapy for new parents.

In her personal life, Jessie is passionate about the outdoors, including rustic camping, yoga, reading, and cooking. She also enjoys several sports, such as swimming, cross-country skiing, and soccer. These activities allow her to refocus, take care of herself, and connect with others. She considers these three dimensions—rejuvenation, self-care, and connection—to be essential to well-being, and they naturally influence her professional practice. She guides her clients toward integrating meaningful activities that are consistent with their values and needs.
