Sonya Maamir, Occupational Therapist

About

Sonya is a graduate occupational therapist from the University of Ottawa, where she completed a master's degree in 2022 and a bachelor's degree in health sciences in 2020. She has taken additional training in workstation ergonomics, self-compassion and sleep. She works mainly with CNESST, SAAQ and veteran clients, adopting an approach focused on rehabilitation, return to work and overall well-being.

Passionate about physical activity, she actively integrates it into her clinical practice, with a particular interest in promoting physical activity among the elderly. She currently co-facilitates a physical activation group for a varied clientele. This project inspired her to develop a group adapted to the needs of the geriatric population.
