Mélisa Vachon, Occupational Therapist

English, French

About

Mélisa is an occupational therapist who graduated from the University of Ottawa and has been a member of the Ordre des ergothérapeutes du Québec since 2017. Her rich and diverse professional background reflects her commitment to the overall well-being of the people she works with.

Before joining the Physiothérapie Universelle team, she worked for six years in the public sector with a variety of clients: adults in physical rehabilitation, mental health, and pediatrics. She then practiced in a private clinic for two years, mainly with people in the process of receiving compensation following a work or road accident.

Driven by a deep curiosity about overall health and resilience mechanisms, Mélisa naturally specialized in helping people return to work after experiencing burnout or mental health issues.

Her unusual career path has given her a nuanced and humanistic view of occupational therapy. She firmly believes that every individual has untapped resources within them. Her role is to help you reveal and mobilize these resources. She draws on the principles of motivation, empowerment, and creativity to explore innovative solutions and restore meaning and pleasure to your meaningful activities.

Mélisa has also been teaching yoga for about ten years. It was her passion for the body and mind that inspired her to switch to occupational therapy.
