Does your child experience difficulties in his or her day-to-day activities?

If your child is having difficulty performing daily activities, or you have concerns about his or her abilities, pediatric occupational therapy may be right for you and your child. Occupational therapists are professionals who work with children who are experiencing various developmental challenges that interfere with their autonomy.

An occupational therapist can solve a wide range of issues. These may include difficulties with personal care (e.g., cleaning oneself, getting dressed, eating); in moving about (e.g., running, jumping, climbing or going down stairs) or in hobbies (e.g., craft-making, coloring, completing puzzles or cutting paper); and after-school activities (e.g., writing, organization while completing math problems); in maintaining interpersonal relationships (e.g., communicating with others, establishing visual contact, being sociable, expressing oneself according to their age group); and in behaving (e.g., maintaining self-esteem, respecting limits, experiencing anxiety or impulsiveness). The professional will support your child in all the activities that are important to him/her, with the aim of optimizing his/her involvement.

Small actions can have big repercussions!

Pediatric occupational therapy aims to improve your child’s independence, whatever his or her age.
